0:00 freedom is never more than one

0:01 generation away from Extinction it has

0:05 to be fought for and defended by each

0:09 generation a recent poll found that 69%

0:12 of Americans believe America is heading

0:14 in the wrong direction when it comes to

0:16 freely expressing your beliefs thanks to

0:19 our first amendment the right to freely

0:21 express your thoughts and opinions is

0:23 undoubtedly one of the qualities that

0:24 makes America America it’s the reason

0:27 why Martin Luther King Jr was able to

0:29 use his ey Have a Dream speech to

0:30 motivate millions of Americans during

0:32 the Civil Rights Movement it’s why

0:34 Vietnam protesters could legally burn

0:36 the US flag and why just a few years ago

0:39 millions of Americans could take to the

0:41 streets in the George Floyd protest

0:43 without fear of

0:45 repercussion so if these rights are so

0:48 vital to what makes America the country

0:49 it is why does so many of us fear we’re

0:52 losing them and which candidate will

0:54 continue to protect the First Amendment

0:56 moving forward this is election fact for

0:58 the undecided voter

1:04 speech first off why should you care

1:07 well as I explained earlier freedom of

1:09 thought speech and expression are core

1:11 tenants to what makes America so special

1:14 and secondly if the health of our Free

1:16 Speech rides begins to worsen the

1:18 slippery slope in which we could lose

1:20 those rides all together is much too

1:22 steep here’s an example according to

1:25 Human Rights Watch over the last 12

1:27 years the Russian government has

1:28 intensified its C crack town on

1:30 extremist language all in an effort they

1:33 say to stifle terrorism that sounds like

1:36 a good goal right but Russia used those

1:39 laws to eliminate press critical of

1:41 President Putin and some translations of

1:43 the Quran were outlawed too when Iraq

1:46 band station in anti-putin performance

1:48 in 2012 inside a cathedral they were

1:50 arrested for hooliganism and religious

1:52 hatred and two of the members were sent

1:54 to jail for 21 months so now let’s get

1:57 to the basics what writs do you

2:00 have there are some forms of expression

2:04 not protected by the Constitution like

2:06 obscenity false advertising oh and

2:08 remember Coke is low in calories too

2:10 threatening language with the true

2:12 intention of causing harm and anything

2:14 false it damages the reputation of

2:15 someone Nick Sandman according to his

2:17 attorneys defamed by several national

2:19 news outlets and if you are partaking in

2:21 freedom of expression in the form of a

2:23 protest for example and you begin to act

2:26 violently or break the law in any other

2:27 way that also is not protected

2:31 almost anything else and you should be

2:33 good to go yes even if what you’re

2:35 saying is 100% false or is hurtful or

2:38 hateful to another group of people

2:41 speaking of false let’s dive into

2:43 misinformation is a term you’ve likely

2:45 heard over and over again for the last

2:47 several years dangerous misinformation

2:49 election disinformation continued

2:51 misinformation it’s disinformation Miss

2:54 or disinformation really just means

2:56 false information that’s being spread we

2:59 saw it being used used a lot during the

3:00 co pandemic when Big Town companies like

3:03 Facebook announced they’d be removing

3:05 misinformation about the virus from

3:07 their platform but here’s the thing a

3:10 lot of the information being classified

3:12 as misinformation or as baseless

3:15 conspiracy theories eventually turned

3:17 out to be true a conspiracy that Corona

3:20 virus was man-made in a lab in Wuhan

3:22 China the head of the FBI in the United

3:24 States has said the Corona virus

3:26 pandemic is most likely to have emerged

3:29 from a Chinese laboratory you might

3:31 think the intent to stop false

3:32 information is a good thing but remember

3:35 Putin and how he used the cover of

3:38 fighting extremist language to prosecute

3:41 Russians who were speaking out against

3:44 him do you trust our politicians left or

3:47 right not to do the same if you do 100%

3:51 trust them well you can stop this video

3:53 here if not then which candidate is most

3:56 likely to be an advocate for your free

3:58 speech rights moving forward

4:00 even if that Free Speech goes against

4:02 what their Administration believes

4:04 they’ve both called out falsities being

4:06 spread online or by the media we are

4:08 fighting the fake news it’s fake phony

4:12 fake if you act as a megaphone for

4:16 misinformation we are going to hold you

4:20 accountable many on the left believe

4:22 that if Trump wins free speech is over

4:25 during his time in office chump used his

4:27 free speed dri to call it a lot of a

4:29 journalist for reporting what Heth

4:31 claimed were lies about him and his

4:33 administration the left uses examples

4:35 like this I called the fake news the

4:38 enemy of the people and they are to

4:40 prove their point saying the words he’s

4:42 using are threads to democracy but did

4:44 he act on those words possibly once in

4:48 2018 the White House asked CNN reporter

4:50 Caitlyn Collins not to an attend event

4:52 with the rest of the White House Press

4:54 pool that day CNN and most of the media

4:57 reported it as a ban against Collins but

4:59 the White House says they never used the

5:01 word ban they asked her not to attend

5:03 thanks to inappropriate decorum they

5:06 believed she Illustrated earlier in the

5:08 day Trump has also advocated for a

5:11 proposal that would require one year of

5:13 jail time for someone who burns the

5:14 American flag something most free speech

5:16 absolutists would disagree with and he

5:19 suggested that media organizations that

5:21 lie should have their licenses

5:23 challenged to be clear the president of

5:25 the United States does not have the

5:27 right to pull TV licenses and even

5:29 furthermore news networks don’t even

5:31 have licenses to begin with during the

5:34 co pandemic Trump sided with religious

5:36 institutions fighting against state

5:38 regulations trying to close them down he

5:40 also passed an executive order requiring

5:42 that any college campus receiving

5:44 Federal funding for things like research

5:47 must also support the quote free inquiry

5:49 of ideas among its students so what

5:52 about kamla she and her supporters have

5:55 spoken repeatedly about censoring

5:57 misinformation on social media platforms

6:00 they are directly speaking to millions

6:02 and millions of people without any level

6:06 of of of oversight or regulation and

6:09 that has to stop these big platforms

6:11 need to be subject to some level of

6:13 public oversight and regulation

6:15 Americans who are uh engaged in uh this

6:20 kind of propaganda and whether they

6:22 should be civy or even in some cases

6:25 criminally charged uh is something that

6:27 would be a better deterrence her ring

6:30 mate Tim wall said this in 2022 I think

6:34 we need to push back on this there

6:35 there’s no guaranteed to free speech on

6:37 misinformation or or hate speech and

6:39 especially around our democracy he

6:41 doubled down won question about that

6:42 clip by his opponent Trump’s running

6:44 mate JD Vance the most sacred right

6:47 under the United States democracy is the

6:49 first amendment you yourself have said

6:51 there’s no First Amendment right to

6:53 misinformation kamla Harris wants to

6:56 use you can’t yell fire in a crowded

6:58 theater that’s that’s the test that’s

7:00 the Supreme Court test Tim fire in a

7:02 crowded theater you guys wanted to kick

7:04 people off of Facebook for saying that

7:06 toddler shouldn’t his supporters said

7:08 this CP was taken out of context but

7:11 even if so false or hateful language is

7:13 protected by the Constitution when

7:15 questioned about a report that accused

7:17 the Biden Harris administration of

7:19 working with big Tech to censor post

7:21 they deemed inaccurate the

7:23 administration neither confirmed or

7:24 denied combating disinformation that is

7:27 something that uh we are committed to so

7:29 you are flagging uh misinformation as I

7:33 don’t have anything more to add this is

7:34 a department of of Homeland Security

7:36 that I refer to and again they have

7:38 advocated for doing more of that we will

7:40 hold social media platforms accountable

7:44 for the hate infiltrating their

7:46 platforms because they have a

7:48 responsibility in April 2022 the Biden

7:51 Administration announced that

7:53 disinformation governance board which

7:55 the White House said would combat

7:56 misinformation malformation and disin

7:59 information that threatened us security

8:02 after public outcry and loss of

8:04 comparisons to the book 1984 the plans

8:06 were shut

8:07 down so we know what each candidate has

8:10 said in the past but what are the

8:12 candidates plans moving forward if they

8:13 win the White House chub’s campaign

8:16 website features a five-part plan to

8:17 combat censorship especially censorship

8:20 online among big Tech platforms he says

8:23 he will sign an executive order that

8:25 bans any federal department or agency

8:28 from working alongside big Tech to

8:30 monitor or impede free speech and he

8:32 said he would fire any federal

8:33 bureaucrat who engaged in domestic

8:35 censorship under the Harris regime

8:38 comm’s website does have a section on

8:40 freedoms including the freedom to vote

8:42 the freedom from discrimination

8:44 reproductive freedoms and the quote

8:46 freedom to love who you love openly with

8:48 pride her website does not mention

8:50 freedom of speech or the First Amendment

8:53 those are the facts now it’s time for

8:55 you to decide
